Origin
The origins of Gongfu Cha are debated, but it is most widely believed to have originated in the Chaoshan region of Guangdong province, China. Historical records suggest its development over the past few hundred years, with early forms appearing during the Ming and Qing dynasties. It was initially a regional practice, particularly popular in areas known for producing high-quality oolong teas, like the Wuyi Mountains in Fujian.
